This package contains information and directions for applying to the United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship Program. Each year (April) $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually will be at the discretion of the United States JCI Senate Foundation. The monies must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Mensa Scholarship Information: We are well into the academic year; likewise, the Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program is well underway.  As the new scholarship chair for Cleveland Area Mensa (CAM), I would like to encourage your students to participate in this year’s essay competition. The program is open to everyone (members and non-members of Mensa) enrolled in an accredited US college or university the following academic year.  Interested students simply fill out the online application (https://www.mensafoundation.org/scholarships) and submit one essay (550 words or less) about their academic and professional goals, and how their personal experiences will help them accomplish those goals.  Scholarships are awarded based solely on the essay as judged by an anonymous panel.  Only one essay submission is allowed per student.  There are multiple scholarships to compete for, and the student can select more than one.  It is often best to select multiple scholarships that the student wants and qualifies for as some categories have many participants.  Be sure your students read the instructions and rules carefully since not following the rules will lead to a poor score or even disqualification.  The student’s name, address, and other identifying information must be excluded from the essay itself.  The competition closes January 15, 2022, 11:59 PM Central Time.

The winning essays are not only well written but also capture the interest and attention of the judges.
