Jazz Ensembles
The Lakeside High School Instrumental Music Department offers two (2) Jazz classes: Stage Band & Jazz Ensemble.
Stage Band is a curricular class, learning the basics of jazz and small ensemble performance. Any instrument is permitted to join Stage Band, but members must be current members of the Lakeside Band Program.
Jazz Ensemble is a curricular class, learning the basics and ideas of jazz, improv, and small ensemble performance. This class is open to all current Band Students, but Students must audition in order to be a member of the Jazz Ensemble. Instrumentation is based on the traditional jazz/swing band instrumentation: Saxophones (Altos - 2, Tenors - 2, Baritone - 1), Trumpets (4), Trombone (4), Rhythm Section (Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums/Percussion).
