Due to the staffing issue precipitated by the positive Covid cases and quarantines (and lack of subs to absorb the absences), LHS must go remote for Thursday and Friday, May 5th and 6th, 2022.

All scholars who still need to take the state tests should still report to school tomorrow and Friday to complete testing. All other scholars will be on remote learning tomorrow and report to classes virtually at class times.

All scholars who report to test tomorrow, will have transportation provided at normal pick up and drop off times. If parents wish to allows scholars to leave after testing, parents must contact the school to give us permission to release your scholar.
Thank you and have a good evening!

Lakeside High School Youth Philanthropy Board Presents Grants to Local Agencies

Lakeside High Schools Youth Philanthropy Group established through the inspiration of the Ashtabula Foundation with the program idea to cultivate the next generation of philanthropists who would learn the values and attitudes that would enable them to see charity as a vital part of their lives.

It is a Student-Led Board, under the direction of Advisor Colleen Wheeler which the group receives $5,000 from The Ashtabula Foundation. The philanthropy boards then complete a grant process to solicit grant requests from local charities, including announcements in the newspaper of the availability of grant money. The students interviewed the applicants online, in-person or on-site. Discussions were held to determine the impact that the proposals would have on our county. Lastly, they debated the monetary awards to present. It was a fantastic learning process.
